Phil has lived in Brevard for 25 years upon obtaining his Master degree in Physical Education and beginning his career as the Head Athletic Trainer at Florida Tech. Overseeing the student athlete's health and safety for every sport. Phil's career moved him on into another field of health as a personal trainer working for Health First for fifteen years. During which time Phil volunteered in building community for triathletes and cyclist in Brevard. Phil helped organize triathlons and charity cycling events which brought about over ten years of advocacy for bike/ped safety with the Space Coast TPO and advocacy for the health of the Indian River Lagoon.
Phil currently works as a medical device instructor and wildlife photographer instructor.
Phil is involved in many organizations like the Sierra Club, NAACP, ACLU, Audubon Society and more.
Phil currently serves on Palm Bay's Recreation Advisory Board, the Utilities Advisory Board and as a Palm Bay Charter Review Commissioner.
Phil is looking to bring smart growth to Palm Bay safer roads and more walkable communities. Reducing urban sprawl and reinvigorating Palm Bay's blighted areas.
As many who have lived in Brevard for a long time we have witnessed the destruction of our waterways and environment. Phil plans to ensure more preservation and conservation of land as the city develops.
As a working class resident, who works two jobs to make ends meet, Phil understand the fight for a livable wage. It is up to us as a city to create the good paying jobs and the affordable housing needed for our residents.
